“Mental Game strategies to create an environment that will develop the person, the player and the team”
Saturday, August 12th | 1-5pm | Central Catholic High School
1:00 Welcome, Introductions
Athletes train countless hours on their skills and physical ability. Coaches plan for hours to come up with a tactical gameplan. But how much time is spent on mental training? In this session, Brian will outline the sport psychology techniques and strategies we use at SPINw to help athletes train to be mentally tough. About 60% of our clients are high school athletes, and Brian will explain the techniques through real-life examples and Case studies.
A better understanding of neuroscience and brain function has allowed us to develop new exciting techniques for turning performance practice into “Muscle Memory.” The brain can be trained through the art of Polysensory Imagery to execute tasks automatically and without hesitation. Using all the senses to strengthen the neural connections for a task creates new highly precise wiring allowing us to push aside common fear based distractors resulting in high level performance.
2:45 break, light refreshments
3:00 Guest Speaker – Alex Brink of eForce Performance and eForce Football
Alex Brink, ex-WSU and NFL quarterback and current eForce coach will talk about his experiences with sport psychology and the mental game throughout his careers.
Can understanding the way you coach others and how your coaching style differs from others help you practice effective leadership? This workshop is designed to help coaches understand their strengths and weaknesses as a leader. Coaches will gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of their leadership style and approach to coaching. One key to effective leadership is to learn to be flexible in how you lead others and be receptive to others leaderships styles.
Building a successful program starts with answering one question… What is your MAIN THING? What are you trying to accomplish? We will discuss how to develop your core purpose and core values. Some keys to think about are leadership, culture, relationship building and athlete development (as a person as well as an athlete). Be ready to ask questions and share ideas in this interactive session.
All 4 SPINw consultants will stay after the event to answer specific questions
